Terrye
Mock is the founder of the dance group. Kari Shea is now
the choreographer and leader of the Liturgical
Dance group.
The function of the Liturgical dance group is to make a
spiritual contribution to worship through simple motions to
appropriate music. The physical emphasis in each dance is on
arm movements, posture and facial expressions. The ultimate
goal is the projection of s pirit.
The goal is not
dance with the spirit grafted on. Rather,. to guide
the individual spirits into group harmony of movement, so that
the liturgical dance is spirit from the inside out.
The performance season runs from September through May. The
group usually performs at one worship service per
month. The performances alternate between the first and the
second services. The group may also perform at special
services, such as Palm Sunday.
