Who is The Outer Circle and why such a strange name you ask.

We are a group of couples who started to get to know each other during coffee hour.  We talked lightly for a long time about getting together outside of church, which then formed a basis to create a social group.  The name “Outer Circle” evolved due to the fact that a lot of us are the parents forming the outer protective circle around our little “snackers” at the children’s table during coffee hour.

We have been getting together for a year now and some of our activities have been: bowling, feather bowling, game night (because it was too cold to go sledding as originally planned), Girls-Night-Out dancing, Boys-Day-Out golfing, canoeing, laser tag, hayride and just hanging out together.  Sometimes we arrange sitters and pool our resources together to ease the cost of sitters and sometimes we leave it to each family to figure out child care on their own.  We don’t all have kids and we don’t all have little ones.  The only thing I think that we have in common is that we are all couples who want to get to know others in the church a little better.  Oh, and we like to have fun and laugh!

In March, some of us met up at Bonaventure, minus the kids, and experienced a little flashback weekend.  Some of us were old school, on our roller skates and some of us were brave enough for the roller blades.  Following our skating adventure, we headed over to meet a few more people at BD’s Mongolian BBQ in Novi, for dinner.

APRIL EVENT:

On Saturday, April 5th, we’ll be meeting up at Putting Edge for some glow-in-the-dark Putt Putt Golf.  Putting Edge is located on the west side of Fountain Walk, which is located just west of Novi Road and south of 12 Mile, in Novi.  Tee time is 6:00 pm and the cost is $7 per person for the first 18 holes and $3 for each additional game (if we feel like playing more).

After we play, we can go out to dinner.

If this sounds like you, or you are just interested in more information, or want to be added to our e-mail list, please e-mail Sharon Gesse at Dsgesse@aol.com.  We don’t have meetings; we just meet one Saturday evening a month so all of our arrangements are done over e-mail.
