YOUTH NEWS

On March 7th, four of the Guiding Force members took part in the 30-hour famine. These four individuals were Meredy Brichford, Michelle King, Ian Thomas, and Alan Thomas. They raised money for the World Vision Organization to stop world hunger. Good work and God Bless.

On March 9th Guiding Force held their annual ASP auction. This event is the number one contributor for funds for the annual mission that we partake in every year to Appalachia.  We again will be leaving early on June 15, Father’s Day Sunday. By the end of the event we raised a total of $4,375, which means that we should be all set for funds as we see it. We would like to thank the congregation for all of their blessings and support.

Another big thank you is extended to Mr. Bob Rehn, experienced auctioneer and a new enterprising auctioneer, Mr. Mark Phillips for doing such a good job at keeping track of all those bids.

We appreciate all those that rose early to attend the Sunrise Service at 7:30 a.m. Easter Morning.  We hope you were blessed by our service and the special candle presentation of the Lord’s Prayer.   We would like to give our kudos to the Methodist Men for handling the wonderful breakfast after the service.

Be sure to make your reservations for Cruise Night on April 12, 2008 on the USS Holy Spirit and his crew from the Guiding Force and Disciple Puppet Ministry.   See the front page of the GT for more information.

Secretary of the Guiding Force

Anchor’s Away!

Captain Mark Phillips requests your presence on April 12, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. when the ocean liner, the USS Holy Spirit will set sail from Wesley Hall.

The Captain has studied his ADF, Navigational charts and barometer to assure a course that won’t run aground but be smooth sailing all the way.

It is very important that you reserve your space on the USS Holy Spirit as soon as possible, because, there is limited seating.

The services of the best pasta chefs, entertainers, child care and game handlers within the Guiding Force, Disciple Puppet Ministry and Adult Youth Leaders guarantee that this evening will not end up adrift.

There will be a prayer and toast promptly at 5:00 p.m. dinner to be served immediately following.  After dinner there will be entertainment for all and then our Child Care experts will take the little folks to the Disciple Deck for play and craft time.  The adults will then participate in fun games, but we will not give away the Captain’s ideas.   Please see your church bulletins for reservations forms.

Captain Phillips requests only a free will offering be given and all profits will be given to the Guiding Force and Disciple Puppet Ministries.

Bon Voyage!
