Week 4 - GUIDED to PEACE

Thursday, the fourth week of Lent - HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING is written by Ed Arle

.... do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Philippians 4:6

Do you ever have moments when things are going well, and you hesitate to get too excited, because you just know the other shoe is going to drop. Why is that? St. Paul would say, "So what if the shoe does drop? God knows what he's doing. Don't be anxious about anything."

Believe it or not, that's what the cross of Jesus is all about: trusting that God knew what he was doing when he took his Son, Jesus, to the cross. "For our sake he made [Jesus] to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteaouness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21, emphasis mine).

In the blood of Jesus, Paul traded worry in for prayer and thanksgiving. Because he had a savior, he didn't need to worry about a thing anymore. And neither do we.

Dear Jesus, fill me with the Spirit of peace that comes only from you. Amen.
