Saturday, the fourth week of Lent - IT'S ABOUT THE SAVIOR is written by Ed Arle

God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

John 3:17

After Jesus rose from the dead, and suddenly appeared to the disciples on Easter, they were terrified. And why not? They were overcome with guilt because they had all betrayed him. but then what does Jesus say? "Peace be with you." He wanted them to know and believe it's not all about their sin anymore, it's all about their Savior.

I, too, find it hard to sit at the foot of the cross and not feel guilty for what Jesus went through for me. Like the disciples, I feel ashamed for the many times I have betrayed Jesus by not loving my neighbor the way he has asked me to.

But then I remember that Martin Luther said, "When Satan comes to accuss me, I send him to the cross, because that's where my sins are."

Lord Jesus, when I lay my sins at the foot of the cross, help me to leave them there. Amen.
